Wales 60s started the weekend off with a tough game against England. After a bright first quarter when Wales were unable to convert a couple of chances, sustained England pressure took its toll and Wales went down 7-0. Some outstanding goalkeeping from Dave Tipper, including a penalty stroke save.

The performance of the day came from the 65s who held England to 1-3, actually winning the second half 1-0 with a deflected second phase penalty corner shot from the evergreen Phil Withers. This was their best result for many years with the form of goalkeeper Roger Parr a significant bonus.
